"Respite is a continuation of our son's daily routine. He still goes to school from Safehaven." - Safehaven Family
Safehaven welcomes volunteers. Volunteers allow us to get the children and youth into the community, provide the children and youth with new experiences and create new friends for Safehaven. You will see our volunteers in the residences, administrative office and at all our events.
We would be pleased to meet with you to explore volunteering at Safehaven, call 416 535 8525 ext 225 for an application form today or fill in our online application.
The definition of a special person has to include someone willing to volunteer their time and expertise to an organization dedicated to special children. We are very proud of our exceptional volunteers and invite you to join them. Volunteers are the backbone to any community, but are especially important to Safehaven. Be a special person and sign up to volunteer with us. Give us your time and we'll give you an unbeatable, rewarding experience.
Ever present in our residences, playing with the residents or helping to repair our furniture. Mark was introduced to Safehaven many years ago and keeps us smiling with his many antics.
Tony was introduced to Safehaven in 2001 when we approached him to build our Woodbridge home. No task is too big or too small for Tony. He chairs our Annual Gala, visits the homes to play with the children and always has a Safehaven story at the ready to influence people to get involved.
In 6 weeks, this group of exceptional ladies planned a dinner and dancing event for over 600 guests within the Portuguese community, all in support of Safehaven.
We are grateful that the Poveiras Group continues to visit our locations. Rose Selgado has also introduced her teenage daughter Brena, to Safehaven as a volunteer. Brena has helped us with EVERYTHING. They visit our Bloor location on a daily basis to spend time with the children and assist us with projects around the office and respite facility. We are grateful for all that they have done as their commitment and dedication to Safehaven is truly heartfelt.
Shane is our most loved clown who performs tricks, entertains and makes us all laugh. Shane was introduced to Safehaven by Mike Feld, a long standing Safehaven volunteer. Mike Feld of Most Excellent Productions coordinates and supplies audio and video equipment for our events. Mike was introduced to us from Shirley Feld, his mother, a long standing event volunteer. Shirley was introduced to Safehaven by Fran Udlis, another long standing event volunteer.
