Children’s Healthcare Canada Recognizes and Awards Safehaven the 2021 Organizational Leadership Award

Children’s Healthcare Canada recognizes and awards regional not-for-profit organization for demonstrating leadership which inspires change and innovation in healthcare for children and youth.

TORONTO, ON (November 26, 2021) – Safehaven has been recognized by Children’s Healthcare Canada for their ability to create change in the youth and children health system with the 2021 Children’s Healthcare Canada Organizational Leadership Award. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Safehaven has opened their organization to countless vulnerable individuals in Toronto Region and beyond with their Infection Prevention and Control Programming (IPAC) support. Safehaven supported community-based organizations, who needed guidance and specialized IPAC knowledge during a very challenging period. Living the organizational values, Safehaven took on a leadership role as IPAC Champion Lead in the developmental and social services sectors to drive innovative and spark change through the implementation of several support services. These efforts have kept vulnerable individuals safe and save lives during a difficult time in the global pandemic.

The Organizational Leadership award is given to organizations who exemplify change and innovation which is held at the core of this award, where the organization creates both a notable and lasting impact for the pediatric healthcare system and /or the populations served. For Safehaven, with their success in partnerships and collaborations with fellow organizations in the developmental services and community sector, they have been leaders who have had a profound impact in those whom they have assisted over the past year.
